Front and rear tyres do different jobs and wear at different rates. Rotating them at regular intervals evens out that wear so the whole set lasts longer.
Why tyres wear unevenly
- Weight distribution — some tyres carry more load than others.
- Driving conditions — rough roads and hard cornering wear tyres faster.
- Misaligned wheels — an alignment problem causes uneven wear on its own.
What rotation gets you
- Longer life — evenly distributed wear means the set lasts longer.
- Better handling — evenly worn tyres grip and stay stable better.
- Fewer surprises — we check for damage while the wheels are off.
How often
- Every 5,000-10,000km is the general rule for most vehicles.
- Front tyres on front-drive cars work hardest — steering, acceleration and most of the braking.
- Drop into Tingal Rd and we'll rotate them for you.
